Around me that has almost stopped due to people doing just that. Now many banks require a buisness account for any transactions with coinage otherwise there are charges for giving out or taking in coins. </p><p>Bank of America is now instituting a policy of when you bring in any large amount of coins, they are shipped out for counting. There is a charge for that. And you must have an account for the total to be entered or there is another charge for that too. Bank of America will no longer order halves nor take them in but if you do bring them in, they will be sent to the Federal Researve and the amount entered into your account.
