The red quarters were also used by apartment complexes. They were given out to renters to use in the common laundry room. That let the apartments advertise free use of the laundry room.

Kinda rough to take one coin to judge a mintage of 250,000, no? Here are two I bought. (I decided my chance of finding one was practically nil, so I bought a few). I thought they were very nice.

 

At some point if the hype dies down and I still haven't found one, I might give in and buy one. But it was shortly after I did that with W's that I found a W in circulation lol, so who knows.
