Search 'em or Sell 'em: 2009 Lincoln and 2005/6 Jefferson rolls purchased from the US Mint?

This raises an interesting question for me. I have unopened $1000 boxes of the Washington dollar, both P and D. I wonder what the chances are of finding missing edge lettering if I open them. I've wondered about it a few times but it seems like leaving them unopened is likely to be a better long term prospect.

Ha that's neat. Nope I only have a 78CC. I started my Morgan's by getting the best mint of first and last year. I got sidetracked and haven't worked on building my Morgan's recently but I may have to scope an S (with space capsule) along with the 8TF out to keep my CC company.

 

Not to add to the urge to open them, but I wonder if you had one from the mint missing edge lettering what the chances of the whole roll/box missing the edge lettering could be? If they are mint boxes of mint rolls I'd think coins from the same run would be packaged together. Just a thought.
Edited to add- that said, I do think unopened would be better for long term. If that was your intent at time of purchase changing from the plan could lead to disappointment.

I saw what looked like some 2009-P Presidency Lincoln Cent rolls. I believe 3 rolls. This one is the lowest mintage of the 2009 Lincoln Cent series, for what that is worth to you.

 

My 78-S in MS63 has a moon surface look.
