?

Would you open a sealed GSA Morgan Dollar to see what you got? Or leave it sealed?

Nothing wrong with profit, but I've opened all 11 of mine. :) :) :) I'm gonna buy one more soon to make it an even dozen.

I came away with a few MS64's and at least one, possibly 2 MS65 - yet to be graded. All 82/83/84's

Whenever I see the pristine white boxes of unopened GSAs, I always think of listings like these ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/321785525602 ... I'm not saying yours is not original, it just seems like all of those auctions with unopened boxes should show a little more wear/age variance for being from sales that ended in 1980 at the latest. It reminds me of all these Morgan dollar roll threads floating around.

That said, you still got a GSA CC in BU for under $200. Not bad at all.

I did open it, and got an 1883 CC. It looks like an MS63 to me.

I would agree, and I believe the only ones you could buy multiples of were the 82, 83, and 84 CC dollars and maybe the Mixed CC's (Those were the ones they had the most of.) I believe all the rest you were only allowed to bid on a single piece.

Not too bad a coin. A common CC for sure; however, even though the scan is blurry, you might eke out a 64. GSA's tend to be graded on the generous side.

They're around the same price, anyway. I'd put it back in and seal up the box. No, just kidding. :D
