Hello, I have scrap platinum to possibly sell. Yes, I have assayed it, I have platinum acid, as well as 10, 14kt, etc, gold acid. The platinum is clean and from electronics. Anyone know who buys it? Possibly Jack Hunt? Kitco? Apmex? Anyone else sold scrap to one of these companies? Thanks! Any help is greatly appreciated!

How about any non-coin, non jewelry scrap precious metal. Anyone have any recommendations from experience?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am unsure if you are saying that you yourself did the assay , or if it was smeltered into bar by a company which then stamped it with Smelter-wt-purity. Such a bar from a reputable company should be of interest to many wholesale PM companies and will return the highest profit.

It is small, teeny tiny wires. But they can add up, I imagine I may have an ounce.
The sample I tried survived the glass slide with a drop of platinum testing acid.
I had been told about the wire some 15 years ago, when platinum was 200-300 per ounce if that.
I have been saving the chips that contain it since.
I have also saved about 500 lbs of copper in the past year from TV yokes in TVs I have disposed of.
(I own a TV repair shop).
Now if I could do something with this mercury contained in LCD panels and lamps!
(just kidding, we send them to the manufacturers for proper recycling.)

Why in the world would you send the Mercury for recycling? That stuff's fun to play with. I give it to all the kids. :D
