Here's an interesting Antoninus that I've had for a few years, just never got to photographing. Surfaces seem to have crystallized a bit. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P, laureate head right / TEMPLVM DIVI AVG REST, COS IIII below, octastyle temple of Divus Augustus and Livia, statues within 2.03g 17mm
Nice! Don't think I've seen many (or any I guess) of this type. It has a nice portrait style and good toning too. Heres my scare Pius denarius, though not and nice. Antoninus Pius, August 138 - 7 March 161 A.D. AR Denarius ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P XIIII, laureate head right; reverse COS IIII, Fortuna standing left holding rudder and cornucopia. RIC III 194, RSC II 265, BMCRE IV 719-20, Scarce , Rome mint 150-151 A.D.
Sweet score, Mat ... congrats!! I have lotsa A-Pius examples, but apparently none of 'em are denarii (*sigh*)
