Nobody licked the toad Roto. He brought something interesting here. NOW as only you (and a few others will understand) THINK OF THE COLORS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3v0I4OQi7CQ clembo
I never knew Ken worked at Chrysler. An autoworker in Detroit, lol, go figure. My peeve with Ken Potter? All the freakin Refco replicas
I know, but I been wanting to work that joke in for some time now. As far as Python.... That dog piddling in the snow, would his name then be old yeller ? LOL
I've been reading the CONECA website and I see Ken Potter's involvement with it and now I understand him much better. Errors, however slight, are errors and makes an average coin, special. Someone said these coins aren't worth more than the same coin without the error but I have to disagree and somewhat side with Ken, although I personally think the "Brass" Penny thingy is pushing it a bit. The Brass Penny situation is something Ken feels adamant about and he has turned it into a way to make buck but I believe it to be an honest buck, taking into consideration who Ken Potter is. He's a Error Fanatic and he loves anything abnormal with coins and the Brass Penny is abnormal, just not as abnormal as many other error coins. I think I would personally get along with Ken. I wonder if he drinks coffee? Ribbit, Toad :smile
Before you invite him out for a coffee you might want to delete your earlier posts before he has a chance to read them. Especially the one where you called him a CON-MAN. Kiss
maybe I'm unfair to Potter, but I know a lot about US coins, but pretty much got out of coins during the 80's ( I'm old). I still retain enough of an interest to subscribe to a trade paper at times, and still have some stuff. I pretty much disregard all post 1980 stuff as junk I also despise the US gov't and all the foul stuff they do. A coin should have a combination of traits to be desirable, IMO ! attractive design helps, like my avatar :smile that attribute started its path to destruction in 1909, but just barely. The early Lincoln cent was nice, like in 1909, the Indian design was dated. That led to the awful ugly quarter in 1932 over the hot SL desgn...then a few years later the fantastic nickel got a dead president.... I never really cared for the merc dime design much, but better than Barber until replaced by FDR, then to top it off kill the WL half for a mundane Franklin rarity helps ! more later !
I said that without knowing him. Since then, I've taken the time to try and get to know the guy and while I've changed my mind about him, I can't take back what I said. You can only change the future, not the past! Ribbit :smile
If I licked you I wouldn't admit it here. I'll give you credit for admitting that your knee-jerk reaction may not have been correct. I don't know Ken Potter (never met him) but I know his name and I have read his columns in CW and other articles he has written.
Brass cents Ken Potter writes many informative articles for several Numismatic outlets. I feel that anyone that spreads the knowledge is an asset to the collecting community.-- Its my understanding that the brass cents are mint certified.-- And, brass is brass, bronze is bronze, different metal, different characteristics. Did you know that by heating a copper plated zinc cent, you can "make" your own brass plating. I personally think the brass cents thing is more a novelty than a viable, appreciating asset. Hope this helps. Bone Head
