Are these still readily found in dollar rolls? Seems like scouring for a wide rim 1979 could be a good use of time if so.

I may be wrong, but I think the feds are pulling those from circulation.

 

last box of dollars i searched i probably pulled 4 or 5 full rolls of SBA's...and i did find a wide rim,

 

I get them in change when adding value to my bus/subway pass, and they're still in the mix. Maybe about 1 or 2 coins in 10 - mostly 79's, with an occasional 99.

 

They are out there still. theshoegazer's experience matches mine.
