Saving Copper Pennies, is it worth it?

    People who have scientific training talk like this. Everything to us are probabilities. Right now copper is $3/lb. During a Chinese copper scare it was $4/lb. If the dollar weakens, there is a problem with copper mines in Africa or Chile, or if demand increases copper prices, then melting them may make sense.

    If you are a high priced LA attorney making $1500/hr reviewing contracts and you can bill for as many hours as you want, then No, don't go out looking for rolls of pennies. If you are a lowly engineer in Florida, copper is $4 or $5/lb, and 10% of the pennies in circulation are copper & each penny is worth 5 cents, then it's worthwhile to look for them. I love to throw them into a big jar also.
