    There is not a huge difference between the looks of a regular business strike Sac and a satin finish.However,if you put them side by side,you can tell which is which.I've done this once before so I'll try it again.
    You can see that the satin finish on the right,doesn't reflect as much light back and the cartwheeling is usually two big bands and the UNC usually shows 4.In hand,this is quite a bit more obvious.

    Welcome Joe! If I had to guess at the condition of the Sac in question, I'd say it was the result of a worn die or one with a lot of grease on it. Hard to really get a good idea of texture in a picture.

    Yes it is very difficult too see the texture in these photos. So this has prompted me too go down a road I have been looking at for some time now. Digital Microscope! I have one ordered one and should be able too get a better picture up by end of week. That is if I can overcome my technological weakness and figure out new software applications. So look for updated photos later this week. :goofer:

    I have a similar Sac I found in 2000. Not a weak strike or grease - full strike and nice looking - just a frosty/matte finish.
