We are taking a vacation to the San Fransico area this July. I thought it would be a good opportunity to tour the SF mint, but it looks like that is almost impossible. The old mint is undergoing a refurb and the new mint is not tour friendly. Anybody have any advice how to get in the new mint for a tour? Sounds like it might not be a possibility. This is true. Coin-Dude, you'll note that your linked article states it as well. They got in as a "press availability" and had to jump through serious hoops to get it.
