    Anyone attending this show?

February 9th & 10th, South San Francisco Conference Center, 255 South Airport Blvd. South San Francisco.

I'm deciding in the next day or two whether or not to take a table. 25 years ago San Francisco was one of the greatest shows in the world. I wonder if any CT members will attend?

There is a chance I will attend on the 10th. Can't make the 9th as I have a prior obligation.

I have to be in London a week after this date, but if any members might attend I will take a table.

I don’t make it to shows very often but cannot pass one up that is across the bay from where I live. Will be there on the 10th, thanks for the heads up.

Honestly I am surprised that CT does not have a section for coin show announcements. Its either in the relevant coin section or the 'For Sale' category. I have no wish or intention to spam anyone, but it would be uber cool if some of us could come together and meet in person. I have met many people 'online', some very famous, others Plebeian like me. If you live in California or close, it might be worthy to attend, if for nothing else but to talk, get together for dinner, etc. I'll be there!

If I get an internship/job at an airline, I get to fly to whichever coin shows I want for free. Then I would be able to meet up with many of you. :)

I’m on the opposite Coast, unfortunately. I’d definitely take you up on that offer, otherwise!
The Coin Show Announcement Forum idea is a home run , imo.

Coin shows are really cool. Its not so much about buying and selling (although that is obviously a very big part) but people of like mind coming together. Socializing, making new friends... I'll see if I can make a list of people I have met through shows. No particular order, but roughly in order by time (very roughly). And, please, I know there are those lurking out there that know me but I may miss the names. Its not personal, I'm just getting old. Some are now dead, some active, some faded away...

So many Europeans during the heyday of the London Market. Cant remember even a slight amount of them.

Oh, I dont know. I get older, I cant seem to remember so much. So many places and so many people. So many I just cant remember. I guess the point is that if one gets out to coin shows you might just be able to meet and exchange ideas with so many more people that you might online.

When I am at a coin show, 40% of my time is looking at coins, and 60% is talking with dealers and collectors.

You can't have dedicated sections for everything on a coin forum, simply can't be done there's too much. As an example of what I mean, over the years we have received requests for literally thousands of dedicated sections for this or that. Imagine what navigating the forum would be like if we actually honored all of them. And how do you honor one without honoring the others ?

Our method for answering that question - if enough people ask for it, then we grant the request.

That said, anyone at any time can find coin shows anywhere with Google. Or, they can use one of the websites dedicated to that very purpose, like this one -

Alternatively, marry a person who works for an airline;).
