Alright, so a friend of mine asked me about this coin but I'm not able to find any information about the $1,000 value coin. I did find information about the same coin, but only in the $100 value on the back. Does anyone know anything about this coin? Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

Here's the information I found for the $100 coin

Does the coin demand any premium over spot?

    Based on past experience...

The coin shop I frequent the most will usually pay 80% of spot price for world gold coins.

I don't see any sold listings on eBay for this coin...although there is a similar coin listed at $2750 BIN/BO. Of course, I can list anything I want for any price...but someone has to agree with my price.

With such a low mintage, I would think finding sale records will be difficult. I have a similar coin from Papua New Guinea (although much smaller at just over 1/4 oz of gold) and I feel like the only way it will sell for a premium is if it's slabbed.

Is your friend looking to sell the coin, or just find out how much it's worth?
