are the 2009's going to gain in value quickor ill they never be worth a huge premium over other eagles?
I think that the 2009's have the highest mintage of any of the series, so far they are like the 64 jefferson nickel, or the 1921 morgan dollar, they will track the bullion price more than having a numismatic premium
naw, they are beautiful coins, I believe they will go up in value along with silver prices, and someone has yet to catalog all the different die varieties that were used to produce them, so they are keepers, they will not be scarce for people looking for a date set, but on some future date some numismatist will notice things like the number of folds at the drapery on the shoulder, and other small die varieties that will differentiate them and collectors will decide which die varieties are collectable and then who knows one of my 2009 silver eagles may be a true rarity. It is like the 2000 sacagewea dollars, there were millions and millions made, but then someone discovered that the ones that were used as premiums in cereal boxes used a different die and now those are worth enough money to burn a wet mule.
I don't understand what you mean by new. ASE have been around since 1986. I don't consider them new. Unless you meant the actual 2009 ASE. And if you meant that, being new is bad, not good. Things don't go up in value when they are new. They go up when they age significantly.
krispy, mintage for ASE bullion is 28,446,000. and 2009 have two more weeks to add to it. will it pass 29m or 30m?. depend on how the mint's gonna increase it or not.
Thanks for the update, that was an older number I had from a week or so back. Easy to see it pass 29m I think. Maybe 29.5m. It could even end up settling higher than 30m as the numbers become more clearly known in the next few years. Just have to wait to see. :thumb:
