I love groups. I listen. People are wonderful. Others lives are so interesting.

 

That's a beauty you got there! I'm somewhat introverted myself, a sufferer of anxiety and panic disorder. It takes a great deal of energy for me to be social outside of my immediate family. Then I often want to take a nap afterwards, LOL.

This was the first Christmas since my grandmother passed (last april). She was the main reason I got into collecting, she herself was not a collector but worked at Littleton Coin Company for over 50 years starting way back when they had less than a dozen employees. I believe they are near 300 now, was over 200 when I was there 24 years ago.

 

You're a rare breed, @Mountain Man. You've got your thing, and you do it. What were we given this life for, but that?

 

I have always greatly admired the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. I think that it is best of the "American Renaissance" designs, and that includes the St. Gardens $20 gold Adolph Weinman was the best and most practical of the Renaissance designers. Given the right settings, his design stood the best chance of resulting in a well struck coin.

I have thought about doing a "short set" (1940 to 1947) set of Walkers, but I know I'd lose interest. I have the Proofs, and I really admire them. The 1936 is my favorite.



I would like to be around some family for Christmas, but it just didn't work out. My wife would love to be with her nephew and family, but it would not have worked out if we had gone to all the trouble to get to Connecticut. They caught Covid just before the holidays and were in the restricted mode at Christmas.

Hang in there Mountain Man. You're a good man, and I wish your health issues were better.

 

Sorry it didn't work out to be with family this Christmas. My daughter and her family all came down with "something." She is saying it is a chest cold, but I think it is probably the new strain of Covid. She works in day care, so what she isn't exposed to, her 5 year old daughter brings home. LOL
