I just got one in my change in the UK - instead of a 2 pence coin. At current exchange rates that's 78 pence profit. Just got to find somewhere to spend it ;)

First, welcome to the neighborhood from across the pond.

Why don't you search the directories in your area for dealers and/or coin clubs. You might get a better price for it from a collector as opposed to a dealer. Good luck!

One thing that has me curious is that you say it has no date on it. The older issues have the date/mintmark on the side with Sacagawea on it (obverse) while the issues since 2009 have an incuse date/mintmark on the edge.

    Thanks for the welcome Chris.

I've had a look at the edge with a fairly powerful magnifying glass and while there are some marks on there none of them are legible. I'll try getting some pictures to put up but having read through this and other forums regarding these coins I'm relatively sure it must have had 'weak edge lettering' to begin with - can't see it becoming this worn through normal use.

As for looking for a buyer in the UK, I'm not sure if I want to sell it. I might just keep it as a good luck piece - I don't think you can have too much of that :joyful:

The ones after 2008 (with the date on the edge) have a different reverse design each year. If you tell us the inscription on the reverse we can tell you the year.
