I have two Sac coins one with a date and another with out a date any idea why the one does not have a date.
It is hard to tell their condition from the photos, but i couldn't see any evidence of lettering ever being on the edge. To me, they dont appear overly worn, but if I knew otherwise I wouldn't be seeking advice. Thank you very much. I appreciate your opinions and time.
Look carefully at the cladding around the edge. IF you can clearly see the top cladding, the copper core, and the bottom cladding, then the coin has been messed with. Authentic, untampered edges will have the copper core on one side and the cladding on the other but not necessarily with an even spread. Given the wear of your coin and the fact that the missing edge lettering coins command significant premiums, my gut says that your coin has been messed with to remove the lettering. Only a professional examination would reveal the truth.
I have one of these coins and date is on edge stars all around then EPLURIBUS UNIM 2010. I am sure they are a set. This one is 5 arrows inside ribbon Great Law of Peace. Other side is native woman with baby in shoulder sac. LIBERTY on top and in God we trust side If its of value I would part with it From what I understand is some had dates on face meant for collectors. I am not sure why some dates are not on side with woman but on edge of coin I have what looks like the letters ss or 55 on bottom of coin woman side that looks like mint mark
The Sac dollar from 2000 to 2008 have the date on the front. In 2009 the Native American series began with a new reverse design each year. These have the date on the edge. The letters at the bottom of the woman side are GG which stand for Glenna Goodacre, the woman that created the design.
I'm sorry this was an accident my phone was acting up and it made like 6 posts. But yea I get it thank you
Yes, of course. I WILL, however take the bet on dawgs/gators. Go dawgs. By the way, just joking about a bet for anyone who is monitoring this. NO GAMBLING.
They are trying, but it will likely go nowhere. https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/115/s759 It has a companion in the house: H.R. 2299
From what I understand the Mint stopped making them for circulation in 2011. You can get them from the mint for $32.95 a roll plus shipping. Thats more than a dollar apiece
