Yes sirree. The internet had brought about many more collectors making demands higher. It's kind of sad almost to see the modern coins getting such grand praise and noteriety. All this slabbing and so forth on items purchased from the US. Mint with the click of a mouse. Think about it, a collector can concentrate on purchasing a few uncirculated, proof sets, and some commeratives year after year every year. Hold on to the new stuff for a short while and turn to Ebay to unload. It shouldn't be any big whoopie to break even or do moderately well from what I have seen. Some of you may not like this but it almost doesn't seem like collecting because you KNOW what to expect in the upcoming months on product availability from the Mint. It's fun it's exciting and the new stuff is great to look at and admire and the Ebay community thrives on it. It's just very different from how I started out. But you want know what? I am going to adjust to it. He he

Well just don't adjust too far justminted - collect what pleases YOU and you'll be much happier in the end ;) And that's coming from one who used to collect moderns.

I hear ya loud and clear GDJMSP. I still love the old stuff by far. It's just amazing that you can have it all thoretically speaking. Wish for the older stuff and let the US Mint purchases down the road pay for the wish list.

By the way... why don't you collect moderns anymore?

Actually I don't collect US coinage at all anymore. The focus of my collection is now world coinage - in particular world gold. But I throw in a little silver now and then ;)

    2001-s SAC cheap!

I recently got one from an online auction for $9.00 plus $3.00 shipping. I won a 2002 clad proof set and when i received it and looked at it, I found the box to be 2002 but the coins inside were a 2001 proof set!!! I think it was the coin gods righting a few online auction wrongs from the past.
