S-Mint Business Strike Parks Quarters Mintage Watch

Looks like they're breaking their pattern of ending the sale of the oldest issue when a new issue goes on sale.

Error in 2016 Red Book? The 2013-S Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial, OH shows a mintage of 1,023,640, however, I tracked sales of 1,425,740 from the mint’s reports. All of the other 2013 issues show mintages that are the same as the reported sales. This error is in the regular spiral bound edition, I haven’t checked the new Super Red Book.

 

So where do the n.f string and plastic wrapped rolls fit into all these mintages?
Or are they rolled from the mint bags or shipped from the mint to
n.f.string, or brinks?
Just curious cause I myself like the low mintages.

 

If they're S-Mint, they're rolled from 100 coin bags (the only other source for S-Mints). The seller must be rolling them, as I don't believe any are sent off to N.F. String or Brinks - they're only sold by the mint to collectors in rolls & $25 bags.

 

So that means that brinks & n.f gets them from the mint in bulk to distribute to the banks and what not?

Sad part is I have to play catch up on alot of them and probably
gonna get expensive me thinks.

 

No, they do not get S-Mint quarters, they get P&D-Mint quarters.

 

So, is there a way to tell how many original rolls are sold?

 

I'm very well aware that when the banks order from Brinks/N.F string they get P & D coins in the Brinks/N.F string paper rolls.
So if the S-mint rolls are only available from the mint in OGP wrappers or bags
where are the N.F rolls coming from and are they part of the total mintage???

So it seems to me that the couple sellers on eBay (ex:coinhunters) that have N.F rolls they could be buying many,many bags from the mint and then shipping them off to N.F to have them rolled in N.F paper wraps.
Just seems foolish to me to lose that OGP status/premium and put them in
N.F rolls and lose money.

Which is why I asked the question in this thread.

Just thought that some of you in this thread would know more about this than I do.

Maybe they do send them to them or maybe they can buy the paper/plastic from them and roll their own.

 

Update: After being listed as sold out and going back on sale, Shenandoah is still for sale, so no new sold out mintages to report.

2012-s issues: Since many rolls of Acadia & Denali were sold to flippers, they are the predominant 2012-s rolls on eBay and sell for a little more than issue price. I searched eBay -Acadia & -Denali and found very few listings for the other three 2012-s rolls, which may be an indicator of what is to come, once Acadia & Denali have been absorbed into collections. I still believe brighter days are ahead for all S-Mint Parks rolls.

 

The U.S. Mint recently removed several quarters from its catalog, so apparently they are sold out, at least for now. Here are the cumulative sales for all options for the S-Mint Business Strike AtB Quarters. Some numbers are from the Red Book and differ slightly from the U.S. Mint's sales reports. I’ll try to update this list as sales are updated and later issues sell out.

I heard through the rumor mill that they are going to issue S-Mint Business strike pages when the AtB Quarter series ends. But, who knows for sure.

More good news! Finally albums are available from CAPSalbums that not only hold Air-Tite capsules, but also have HOLES FOR S-MINT BUSINESS STRIKES. The pics look good and I've ordered a couple, but haven't seen them in hand yet.

Hopefully those Capsalbums are as awesome as they look - if they are, I'll be moving and expanding many of the series I collect to these albums. Since they hold Air-Tites, I'll add proofs and special issues and order custom pages for the Satins.

Yes, many don't even know the S-Mint business strikes exist. Hopefully these Capsalbums will change that, not only for those who purchase these albums, but for purchasers of other manufacturers as well, if they follow suit.

Nope, no S mints found in circulation. Heck, I can't even find P's or D's of the first three years (2010, 2011 & 2012).
