So versatile. One would never get bored for sure. So much to like for so many different reasons. Very cool and thanks for the share and the great write up.
FANTASTIC year, and wonderful lineup Gene! GREAT coins, very much in my bailiwick! I would really enjoy them ALL in my collection! Big thanks for posting, as they are all coins I really enjoy... (I won't compete with you on the weights, though... ) I had looked several times at an EL Bruttium Shekel... I feel that was Carthage / Hannibal's SLAM at the Romans... ( I JUST posted these, but not sure if folks noticed...) Rome had a Janus / Quadrigatus AR coin that DEVALUED in silver content as the War wore on with them - they had 3 devastating battles within 18 months that Hannibal inflicted over 100,000 DEATHS on the Legions. This caused a drain in manpower, drained the treasury, and caused massive panic in Rome. I like your Janus/Quadrigatus coins. The incuse ROMA coin is a great example of the type. I have looked at a couple of billon and copper core examples, but have not bit yet.
Thank you for the kind comments. Wow, I see you have a Heavy Quinarius / Drachm / Half-Quadrigatus! Tough little guys to find... congrats!
