Last Saturday at a coin show, I saw a nice bust half I wanted to see. In typical fashion, it was in a metal case with a flimsy glass top door. The dealer opened the case, grabbed the coin and I hunched over to grab it. Well, the dealer accidently dropped the door and the metal edge hit me on the forehead, which stung terribly. Some older dude was overreacting thinking there was blood and they should call 911, but no need other than I felt dizzy for a while. I got an ice pack, and 25 mins later was back out looking. Yes, I’m dedicated to this hobby! Furthermore, I am pretty confident I caught some viral bug at the show and currently trying to recover. I may go to the doctor tomorrow. cripe…
Maybe call it the scratch and dent deal... Seriously, hope all goes well at the Doctor's. Maybe wear a mask next time?
First time I’ve heard of anyone being attacked at a coin show by a glass case. Hopefully you are now alright.
Full contact coin collecting! Who is in charge of the league and commissioner? Instant replay? Suspensions and fines in play here?
Please keep this on the down low. Next thing you know there'll be legislation requiring proof of hazard insurance for all coin show attendees before entering the bourse. Glad you're OK DD. I think the half bust him.
Most of my head injuries always came from a parking lot in my parked truck outside of a bar filled with little hotties. Harshly cleaned! But I digress.
Hope you heal fast. But in the future, appropriate coin show head gear is in the pic below. It’s a tetradrachm of King Eucratides of Bactria. Cal
