    Created a new video, telling the story behind this popular Roman Republican denarius.



    Roman Republic: M. Sergius Silus, AR Denarius, 116-115 BC, RCV I# 163, RSC# 1 (3.89 g)

    Obverse: Helmeted head of Roma right; ROMA and denomination mark XVI as monogram (Ӿ) behind. EX•S•C ROMA on front

    Reverse: Helmeted horseman galloping left, holding sword and severed Gallic head in left hand; shield in right hand. Q (for Quaestor) under horse’s front legs. M.SERGI SILVS in exergue
