It's true, our currency name comes from the dutch medieval "loewendaller". It's interesting that we focused on the image (the lion) and the Americans on the name: Daller/Taller = Dollar. Also the Bulgarian currency Leva means "lion". I wonder if it is due to the same medieval "lowendaller" ?

I always read & enjoy your posts at CT. According to the Internet, King Michai I will be 92 years old in October this year. Imagine having money (in people's coin collections) with your own image on it :rollling: I suppose that there are a few British Monarchs with that experience but very few US citizens.
