Pretty pleased with my latest buy, a rather heavy bronze Uncia of 12,5 gram. Please show your RR Uncia coins, thank you
Beautiful green patina Andres2, and nice detail, I have to admit this type is my favorite RR. I only have one RR bronze and it is this type. 24mm, 11.8gm.

Nice one. I like the early struck uncia. Larger bronze of this issue, Cr 38 => TV 63 - 66, were cast. Speaking of cast, how about aes grave uncia - TV-21, knucklebone, dot above / knucklebone TV-28, knucklebone, club above / same TV-1, knucklebone, dot above / dot
Here is my Crawford 38/6 = Sear 615. 25 mm. I once was in a library that had Haeberlin and noted he listed 271 specimens. Not rare!

This post clearly needed reviving after a couple of years - if only to add a Quartuncia. Anonymous, Quartuncia, Rome, 217-215 BC; AE Obv: Helmeted head of Roma right. Rev: Prow right; above, ROMA Size: 3.22g ; 16.4mm , . Ref: Crawford 38/8; Sydenham 88 the smallest RR denomination, issued only briefly during the semilibral period (a sharp lowering of the weight standard), 217 to 215 BC. With declines in RR bronze coin weights, the denomination ceased, never to be resumed. Minted during the time of the Second Punic War, as Hannibal was marching through Italy after crossing the Alps: Ancient historians wrote that after crossing the mountain pass, Hannibal’s army spent 15 years marauding through the Italian peninsula. “His men slaughtered 50,000 Roman soldiers at the Battle of Cannae in 216 B.C.,” says Allen, “but they never took Rome.” - Smithsonian.com
