Fabulous coin, Oki! I've only seen one from that city... and it's on page 19 of this thread . Thanks for reviving the thread, Oki! We're up to 311 of roughly 684 issuing locales. We haven't yet represented half of the provincial cities. Aren't provincials great?! So much unexplored territory, so many fascinating coins, so many rarities .

I've been following this thread since its onset but haven't really contributed anything. Many very interesting and scarce cities which I had never seen. I do have this one that I don't believe has been shown: Cyparissia Peloponnesos, Septimius Severus ; AD 193-211 Ae Assarion (21mm, 5.9gms) Obv: Laureate and cuirassed bust right Rev: Athena standing left, holding phiale and spear, lighted altar to left Interesting to note that CNG first sold six of these (different Emperors and Empresses) in the same 2009 auction, and not a single one shows up afterwards.

Not on the alphabetic list yet, but it should be, this beautiful coin of Orthosia in Caria. Compare with the RPC pieces. Very attractive, sculptural style (although Nero's ear looks a bit too large).
