roman denarii real/ fake/ value?

    is this real? i'm leaning on the side of it being fake after doing some googling.. what do you think?

    Well I'm no expert but I think you're going to need to remove it from from the flip.

    ahh... that explains the results google was turning up. thanks for identifying the emperor Mat - that will make research easier :)

    I have to agree with Mat---I see nothing wrong with it EXCEPT the flip info.

    My example with a far less desirable reverse than yours.

    Since my post I did score this denarius of Elagabalus.....Hmmm, I guess you were part of the 'inspiration' LOL:

    BTW: Mine was 'estimated' at about $400.00....but can sell for a bit lower or higher than that.

    Yep. Looks OK to me, and a nice piece at that, but definitely NOT "Roman Republic".
