i was thinking, why in the world make such a small denomination, so here are some more recent vietnamese coins...

these would be equivalent to about a quarter USD (left) and a one cent piece (right).

@lordmarcovan @chrsmat71 You know what the problem with you fellas is? You are flashing nothing but plain common dongs. You don't have no rare and special dongs to show off.

Check this out. Sallent's got some rare and special dongs....100 dongs to be exact. Made only for a very limited amount of time in the very early 1980's, and was quickly discontinued from circulation after an extremely short time. Now these are some special dongs.

I honestly don't care for this commie stuff. I almost threw it in the trash last year, but somehow I still managed to hold on to it. I also have tons of Soviet, Chinese, Yugoslavian, Polish, and other Cold War era notes from the 1950's through the 1980's. Some of them are extremely rare or unusual too. Don't care much for it either (Being Cuban and surviving Communism will do that to you). I got them all from someone for free about 20 years ago...can't even remember who. I can't find anyone who would be interested in exchanging anything for them, so eventually they might get trashed, or I might be bothered to put it up on Ebay. Not sure.

@chrsmat71 some more rare Commie bills you might all like.

Cuban $1, $5,two differing varieties of the $10, and $20 all signed by Che Guevara when he was president of the Cuban Bank in 1961, and the two $1 peso notes at the bottom (front and back) are from an ultra rare version of the $1 Peso that was released in the early 70's and immediately recalled from circulation and destroyed, as there was an error in the printing. I don't know how many survive to this day, but it's a small number.

And here is a close-up of Che Guevara's signature on one of the 1961 bills.

    Che signature.jpg

I also have other very rare and uncommon Cuban communist era bills, as well as some extremely rare colonial era bills from when Cuba was a colony of Spain. It's all collecting dust in my closet because I don't collect this type of stuff.

I have quite a few of those weird German notes from the 1920's. I think some of those you posted and many you do not have. I can send some to you if you'd like. I really don't know what to do with them.

No idea what they are worth, and I can't be bothered finding out and selling them. Don't mean to be so callous, it's just not an area that interests me in the slightest.

If it were damaged, would it be a dinged dong?

If you made one of those squeezed out coins out of one, would you have a long dong?

Sorry gang, but I don't have any dong examples that I'm allowed to show on this coin site ...

Ummm, but how about a cool Devil's Face example? (yah, they stopped printing these because people on acid started seeing a devil's face in the queen's hair)

... anybody else see it? (are you guys high?)

Oh, and below is a sweet example of mine => $100 Devil's face (cha-ching)

    ... click on it!!

I guess the Vietnam War-era coins weren't such small denominations before inflation crept in. I was mostly unfamiliar with the later postwar stuff like you just posted.

    Disclaimer:

    1. The original joke took place only with coworkers who I knew would get a laugh out of it. (And was always quick to reveal the coin and explain.)
    2. That was in 2008, and that job became toast already. I got laid off in the recession (but not for the Roman coin prank).
    3. Despite the tongue-in-cheek admonition in the title line, I do not recommend you try this at home, folks. (Well, OK, yeah, by all means, try it at home, not at work.)
    4. No coins, humans, or wombats were harmed in the performance of this sophomoric comedy.
    5. Do not eat your As or Dong coins, or for that matter, any coins at all.
    6. Void in the District of Columbia and US Territories. Batteries not included. Objects in mirror may appear smaller (especially As and Dong coins). Only at participating coin forums. Contents may have settled. Shipped by weight, not by volume. Do not use while sleeping. Do not bleach, machine dry, or iron. Do not operate heavy machinery. Results may vary.

    Indeed! Or even present results.

In fact, if it's my past performance we're discussing, there is no indication of any results! :wacky:

PS- the present results are in doubt, and the future... well...
