Hey all I’m so new to coins that I don’t ever buy something as a “pick”.... I just don’t know enough but I know people love toning (seemingly) and this war nickel has some beautiful colors going on. Picked up in an antique mall collective for a price I was willing to lose if it’s junk. what do you all think?
Softly struck, some obvious marks, and luster looks a tad muted, but the toning and eye appeal are excellent. I would grade it MS63-64 but the toning will command a nice premium.
Thank you @Lehigh96 ! I always enjoy your Jefferson posts and you have honestly changed the way I view These charming coins. I was going to send a few coins to anacs - maybe I’ll throw this one in. I forgot to mention that I paid $6 for this.
I am in the process of collecting graded World War II coins. Once I collect a graded coin, I will start looking for "special" coins, such as toned coins. Thanks for showing us your nickel and I am very envious in your toned nickel.
