There are good ones and bad ones yes. Hopefully I'm one of the one's you trust . I find many online stores mentioned here also sell their coins on eBay, sometimes cheaper than their stores.
March 1998 was before the stock went public. I liked it a lot better then when more sales were person to person and there were fewer dealers selling merchandise rather than collectibles.
I managed to snag a nice VF Thasos tet for quite a bit less than they're going for on Vcoins right now. Deals are much rarer than they used to be, but can still be had on occasion.
I buy from eBay only from Sellers I know and trust. Sellers are like mushrooms... only pick the ones you KNOW!
Sorry, but I'm not as old as you so I can only assume that what you see is not as clear as you think it is. LOL
I would not say no, but I would say the chances are low (or lower than when buying from a vetted company). Or put another way, about the chance you would roll a end on an astragalus toss on a hard surface.
