That's about the gist of it. Although, half dollars are harder to come by. In my area it's not so simple as to ask for them, a lot of the time banks don't have any, and when they do, in my experience they're usually loose. The only place I've ever been able to purchase rolled half dollar is the local casino, go figure! Lol.

Anyway, just ask for what you want, hand over the cash for it, or just have them pull the value from your account. In my experience it saves time to as for "$x in rolled *insert coin type here," instead of like 10 rolls of dimes. A lot of the time, the new employees who don't know me will try and give me the actual empty paper rolls instead of rolled coins, and then I have to explain that's not what I want. Takes more of my time, takes more of their time.

Other tips and things to consider. Don't dump your loose coins at the same bank you pick them up, at least go to a different branch, if not a different banking company. Dropping off at the same bank will not only increase your chances of going through rolls you've already been through, but will tend to annoy the tellers. You don't want to annoy the tellers, trust me. Or you could just spend your money in coin form; I do it all the time with halves, dollars, and dime rolls. Most merchants won't care and will take them. Also, along the lines of not annoying tellers, go in for coins when the bank isn't crowded, I'm telling you from experience that it just makes life easier for everyone. Be polite. Oh, and although tellers can't accept any form of cash or money, you can always tip them in gift cards or treats. I'm not saying do it all the time, but every once in a while, as a thank you for indulging your strange money requests.
