Be sure to check if they are silver as some of them can be from a silver mint set (I found a 76 silver proof). 1987 also has low mintage and are hard to find...those are keepers. in 2002, they stopped making halves for circulation so many keep 2002 and forward since their mintage totals are lower than previous years. 1982, 1983, and 1989P all have an error call the "no FG" error (you may find this on other years too). Look near the eagle's feet on a half dollar and find the "FG" which are the designer's initials. The 3 years I mentioned have coins that are missing the FG.
