What an interesting talk subject! I have always been one who puts change in jars, bottles, cups et al for years. I believe I inherited this from my dad. I was stationed in Las Vegas for 2+ years and every time I got a Blackjack and a half I put it in my pocket. Love to gamble but not the wearwithall to do it often. I put the halves in a plastic 5 gallon water bottle. Looking back I could kick myself - I rolled em all up and got the green foldy dead presidents for them all. Any way, my dad cashed in or sold all his collection except a few which I now have and this triggered my collecting rebirth. Haven't done much roll searching but from what I've read hear it could be fun! I wondered why dad left 1960 & 1960 D Lincoln pennies. The copper content of Memorial pennies from 1960 thru 1983 is higher than all after 1983. I read this CT Forum and someone mentions they came across a 1968 S in AU condition. I just saw one of those today when going thru my pennies in the bottles I have! Several 1959 P&D in the same condition. Guess I should pay more attention, huh? It is a great way to see if your kids/grandkids are interested by handing them a Whitman's Folder and some pennies. In my case, Whitman folders and a bottle of pennies I know will go in thaose particular folders. Guess I'll move up to nickels, dimes and quarters. Interesting time killer! Thanx, folks.
