<p>[QUOTE=&quot;dano, post: 551512, member: 16035&quot;]<b>My Second Best Coin Roll Find!</b></p><p><br /></p><p>So, this past weekend i was downtown doing errands and decided to check the banks for old half dollars, which i periodically do.&nbsp; I have not had much luck at these local banks, because we are a small town, but the tellers have come to know me, especially at the actual bank where my accounts are.</p><p>I visited the first 2 banks and struck out.&nbsp; When i went the bank i do business at, i made a special point to say hi to the head teller who knows me and my sons very well.&nbsp; She loves my 3 year old and had nothing but smiles for my 1 year old who i had decided to do my errands with.&nbsp; I asked her for halves, and she told me that she didn&#039;t have any.&nbsp; I was ready to leave when i figured i&#039;d ask my usual question:&nbsp; &quot;Do you happen to have anything else unusual?&nbsp; Ya know, anything different?&quot;</p><p>She stops and says, i know you save halves, but a customer brought in 48.00 worth of the big dollar coins, do you want them?&nbsp; I figure these will be Ikes, but i take anything off of tellers&#039; hands, because i want them to save <i>everything</i> for me!&nbsp; So i say sure!&nbsp; She goes to the vault and comes out with 2 clear Harris tubes taped shut with old masking tape.&nbsp; It&#039;s obvious someone has stuffed 4 extra dollar coins into each tube.&nbsp; Even from a distance i can see white edges!!!!&nbsp; So, i hand over 48.00 exactly, say a quick goodbye and take my son back to the car.&nbsp; Here&#039;s what i found:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>15 Morgan dollars and 2 Peace dollars and 30 of the nastiest, dirtiest Ike dollars i&#039;ve ever touched!&nbsp; I am speechless, totally stunned!</p><p>1878 </p><p>1879 x2</p><p>1880 </p><p>1880-S</p><p>1881 </p><p>1883</p><p>1889-O x3</p><p>1892</p><p>1894-O</p><p>1896-O</p><p>1900-O</p><p>1901-O</p><p>1922</p><p>1923-S</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Once i got home and figured out what i had, i called the bank and asked for the teller.&nbsp; I made a point of telling her how much i appreciated her thinking of me, and slid in a request for her to call me if that customer ever brings any rolls of any coins in again. </p><p>Needless to say, this goes down as one of my top 3 coin finds from rolls!&nbsp; I won&#039;t get rich from any of these dollars, but the fact that i found not 1 but 17 at one time still floors me![/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
