Wow, golly gee! So last night I went to the local Fresh Mart Store where I do my grocery shopping and as usual asked one of the clerks, with whom I am friendly with (they are all nice folks there) and asked for $10.00 worth of penny rolls. Sorting through them in the evening keeps me out of trouble and feeds my "coin hunting" jones! Anyway, lo and behold, I spotted the usual bright, shiny copper coin thinking automatically that it was just another "Shield" 2013 that is so now common. But wait! As I tumbled it over I noticed something entirely different about this coin....What? They can't be! But there they were, the two unmistakable bundles of wheat sheaths that we find on the "Wheatback Series" penny Yes, Lads. Yes, Lasses, it was a 1957 D Wheat Penny! Gleaming from the dull crowd as if it had just been tossed into the mix from the Denver Mint, as if it had just been stamped and tossed onto my humble pile of brown pennies! I would dare say it was MS xx grade! I couldn't believe my luck as I stared and admired the beauty of such a lovely, shiny and iconic coin! I wondered to myself..."How did it make it through 57 years of existence in this cruel, cold world and maintain such a high grade of numismatic glory and standards? This proves to me that to look is to find and to find is to be happy and to be happy is to be blessed and all that equals the one thing we all seek. Peace, happiness, love and that "Million Dollar Coin!" Later, hunters. E.
