When I did, I was surprised to see 1893. I was even more surprised to see an S mintmark on the back.</p><p><br /></p><p>Cool, I have only a few Morgan dollars and none with a mintmark.</p><p><br /></p><p>I still did not realize what I had. When I looked it up, I was shocked to see a mintage of only 100,000! 1893-S is THE KEY DATE MORGAN DOLLAR. But it is also the most commonly counterfeited. So I send it to NGC and now I know IT IS GENUINE!
