<p>[QUOTE=&quot;MentalVirus, post: 1277489, member: 33177&quot;]<b>Tough hunting in OH</b></p><p><br /></p><p>Nice work HOTN!&nbsp; It&#039;s definitely a grind.</p><p><br /></p><p>I am a field engineer so I do a ton of travel and start doing &#039;road trips&#039; to and from jobs and while there if I get the chance.&nbsp; The last few weeks I spent in the middle of OH and went back and forth twice.&nbsp; Three of the 4 legs back and forth I made them almost all day road trips hitting banks from 9am till 4pm then continued on, either home or to the job.&nbsp; I tried to hit mostly &#039;country banks&#039; and small towns with 1 to 4 banks.&nbsp; I stayed away from bigger towns/cities because I figure I run into more dumps/hunters and it&#039;s tougher to get around.&nbsp; In (3) - 7 hr days hunting I ended up hitting 72 banks and collected approx. $2950 in halves!&nbsp; I only hit silver at THREE banks!&nbsp; $60 in CWR gave (11) - 40% halves.&nbsp; (1) - 40% from a till at another bank (1970 though!!!).&nbsp; and at another bank I said I would take all $350 and they brought out all dumps that were CWR&#039;s and marked with a pink ring, purple ring and then a black X on the roll.&nbsp; I hate it but I can&#039;t help but search the dumps too, if for nothing else other than hopes of finding a 1987p/d because at the time I had neither.&nbsp; Well I searched them and found an S bicentennial that was SILVER!&nbsp; When leaving another bank with no halves another teller called out &quot;you want a real dime&quot;?&nbsp; What, a real dime?&nbsp; I said sure and it was a &#039;53 rossie!&nbsp; She said she heard people sell them for as much as 40 cents each.&nbsp; I was thinking I would gladly give her 40 cents for as many as she could get lol.&nbsp; I just said thanks and was on my way.&nbsp; The only other thing of interest was 3 rolls I picked up with no silver but 9 S clad proof halves with most in perfect shape including a &#039;95 and these rolls also gave up a nice 1987D.&nbsp; I also picked up $250 in Ike dollars along the way at 3 different banks that were happy to unload them.&nbsp; No silvers though I did get a folder and make a set out of them too.</p><p><br /></p><p>Thank god I wasn&#039;t paying for gas or time :hail: or it would have been a major bust.&nbsp; OH turned out to be really tough and/or bad luck for me but I got paid well to do it haha, even if not with silver. </p><p><br /></p><p>Total Take hitting 72 OH banks and collecting $2950 in halves:</p><p><br /></p><p>(250) - Ike&#039;s (no silver)</p><p>(13) - 40% halves (including a silver Bicentennial and a 1970)</p><p>(9) - S Proof Halves (74, 77, 79, 80, 80, 81, 85, 93, 95)</p><p>(1) - 1987D Halve</p><p>(1) - &#039;53 Roosie</p><p><br /></p><p>Not a SINGLE 90%&#039;er!</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>The job in KC before that was much better with half the banks hit and produced 33-40%&#039;s, 1-90% Ben.&nbsp; Next week I&#039;m headed to Alabama for a few weeks and then Georgia for 3-4 weeks after that.&nbsp; Maybe I&#039;ll get the chance to steal some rebel silver <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie8" alt=":D" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" />&nbsp; Might be tough though, some of them don&#039;t much care for us Yankee&#039;s :dead-horse:</p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH]140962.vB[/ATTACH][ATTACH]140963.vB[/ATTACH][ATTACH]140964.vB[/ATTACH][/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
