It is 1964 NOT 1954, and in the case of half dollars, the magic date is 1970.</p><p><br /></p><p>Now, after my ranting I can admit that I would probably check coins too if I were a teller, but I would at the very least not do it in front of a customer AND I would try to do it &quot;legaly&quot;. By that I mean I would sell the coins to teller B, then buy them with my own money.&nbsp; Also, I would be doing it for more than just the silver reason, I would do it for the numismatic reasons.
