Hence why I specified the condition of "JUST silver hunting". :) For ME, there's just nothing exciting in a roll of dimes that ISN'T silver. Anything post-64 I have in high grade, the kids aren't working on dimes, they're the most tedious to handle, and on and on. The only interest a modern dime could have would be an error coin, and I'm not knowledgeable OR interested enough to make finding the occasional rarity worth the effort. Now...granted...I'd LOVE to find a merc in circulation, or a key date or high grade old rosie...but, since they ARE silver, they'll reveal themselves via edge searches. So..for ME, at least, dime rolls ARE strictly about the silver...thus, the clear wrappers are great. Now....Hand me a roll of halves, and paper's gonna fly. :) That's really odd that the box would be sealed, but contain searched rolls. Saw your earlier post about that. I'm a little worried now, since I've got a Brinks box a week on the way. *heh* Some places (Brinks I know) are rolling in what appears to be shrink-wrap clear plastic tubes. For OUR purposes, advantages/disadvantages discussed above. What benefit they offer to Brinks, banks, or merchants, I have no clue. Personally, every merchant I know hates the things, because you can't break them over a cabinet/till edge like you could the paper ones. Each roll MUST be torn at an end, then bent, then squeezed. They increase the amount of time it takes to empty a roll into the till by many times...a real annoyance for both cashier AND customer when someone's waiting for their change.
