Do Costa Rican dimes have a cupro-nickel edge like Panamanian ones?

I skunked on 2 boxes of dimes last week, which is a rarity for me as well. Going to try to pick up at least 3 boxes this week and a box of quarters if I can, although with my luck on quarters I'm not expecting much lol

The Costa Rican dime has a solid silver looking edge, it was more gray than silver white. The reeding looked more like a silver US dime, not like the Canadian dimes which I think have more reeding. Dimes in my area have been terrible in 2012, CWR are feast or famine too.

Thanks Halvessearcher, from what I've learned on here it seems as if silver quarters are the hardest to find.

I got it just when I was starting to collect and wasn't looking at change. Was buying a soda with change and kept putting it in and it wouldn't accept it and the guy I was working with said that's a silver quarter. Been looking ever since and still have it.

Silver quarters are indeed a real rarity.

Found my first proof today! Searched through 6 rolls of nickels and found this 1986S Jefferson!

$100 BWR quarters: Nothing of interest.

The only silver quarters I've found were from teller trays. I've scored three over the past month or two.

Yes, they are rolled. I buy the boxes with clear wrapped rolls. Typically, banks will sell you anything they have one hand, but to sell back to them you need an account. When I buy half dollars I often ask if I can trade them coins (instead of dollars) and I find they always say yes.

I can sell $200 in quarters most anywhere. It helps because then I can spread around my drops and don't need to drop them off with the same banks all the time.

Box of dimes: No silver and one roll alone was 70 cents short.

Y'know, I was thinking today that we should have a term for when you find a silver (or other significant find) in the last roll of the box. Maybe we could call it a happy ending or something... "Box of dimes with happy ending", lol

Anywho. Box of Dimes - Roosie x5 (no happy ending, but it's nice to break my skunk streak on dimes and I'm having bad luck this week on rolls)

I've been searching them since August - I estimate I've done about 40.

Seached a box of dimes and a box of halves today. Two roosies. Unrolled first roll of halves and found a 1964. Unrolled second, found a 1967. Total for the box was 1 90%, 3 40%. Several post 2002. Are those worth keeping? Also found one English penny that's the size of a half. It had four drilled holes in it. Any idea why that was done?

Grabbed the two boxes today that I was supposed to grab last week but my car broke down.

    Box 1 - Skunk
    Box 2 - 2x40% and 2x Benny 1950 and 1957

    I'll take it

Hey merc, I know you've found plenty of buffs and V nickels, but have you ever found a shield nickel?
