picked up 12 Ikes today, one was a 71D FEV, $19 in halves, 87P
$120 CWR dimes...nothing in 23 rolls, but one of them coughed up 35 silvers - 32 mercs, 3 roosies. Dates as follows:
    18S,20,20D(i think),23,24,29,2x40D,5x41,41D,41S,2x42,42S,2x43,43D,2x43S,5x44,2x44D,44S,45?(back damaged),46S,48D,64

Now how many dime scores have you had like that. At least 3 right? That's amazing!

Nuts, I'm jealous, I love silver dimes and I never find rolls like that... guess I need to start asking for CWR's more often.

Well what I do is I order 1 box of Nickels and a couple boxed of pennies. Usually 1 but starting to order multiple ones. I usually make $40 in a box of pennies and nickels. When I make 40 I take 20 to devote to more coins and deposit the other 20 for something else. I am 12 and make $30 a week usually from walking a dog. That goes a little to the coin roll hunting. I live in Canada so it is easier to make money in Nickels too.

Going to be picking up a minimum of $100 in dimes tomorrow. Personally I go for BWR, because I feel that they have not been tampered with. The CWR just make me think of someone's dump, but I guess some people cash in silver as Adreides has found out.

I figure there is plenty to go around, so I would never mind if someone visited 'my bank'. I have not been to the Flagstar downtown, so I can't speak as to whether they have a coin counter or not. May be worth investigating for my own needs. I use my CU to dump, and they are more than polite with me, but it might help to have somewhere else to dump at on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Thanks for the info about Flagstar...

    Question...

Have any of you or do any of you use coin lock bags to dump halves? Since the only coin machines at my banks are behind the counter, it seems like this would be a good way to speed up dumps and not make tellers upset running five hundred in halves through the machine. Any thoughts??????? My only concern is having to show the deposits in my account every week. If I dump a grand a week, that is another $52,000.00 in deposits I may have to explain one day to you know who.

I've seen something like this before, but it was a complete half dollar coin. On the reverse half on the hollowed out inside there was an old English cent of some kind welded in to give the coin some weight. There was some space inside the coin to hide whatever.

You needed to look closely to see where the seam was on the outside and needed a good set of nails to open it. If the teller who had it not showed me, I would have never noticed.

Apparently, some guy locally uses a machine to sort out the silver and two of these popped out. He kept one and gave the other to the teller.

I use them sometimes, the thing that gets me is I have to wait for the money to be credited, it's not an instant deposit. I only use them when I can't make it to a dump bank. It's easier on me because I can drop them at local branches and not have to travel like I do to dump banks. I guess if I ever had to explain, I would tell them I like to collect coins. I buy coins, take the few that I want if any, and deposit the rest at the bank so I can buy more coins the next week. If they needed to they could go to the bank and see there is no funny business going on. Just some guy with a hobby. I hope they have bigger fish to fry than us and are using their resources for better things.

    First search here:

$90 in CWRs of Halves - SKUNK

A guy that comes into my store daily actually bought every one off of me, so I didn't have to dump them anywhere.

I'm getting a box of nickels today, wish me luck.

Those are crazy numbers, where are you located? Sounds like you must be in Virginia or something where Cookey is landing those killer boxes.

I am in the southeast. The very first box I opened had 23/40%. I have been through about 8K now (16 boxes) and have had one other where I found 5 Walkers, 3 Franklins and 7/40%. Most of the time I find a couple or nothing. Today I picked up $22.00 in loose coins and got 1/90% and 2/40%. I will let you know how I do tomorrow.
