Those are still good boxes and nothing to sneeze at. I'd be happy with 10 silvers from $1500 worth.

    Box of Halves 1-franklin
    1-64' ken.
    2-40%ers both 66' I'll take it :)

Also found a token of the statue of liberty. I researched it and it is the one where their is a machine at the statue of liberty tha's presses the coin right in front you and they charge 3 dollars. Doesn't seem to be worth anything, but interesting to find. Was hoping it was copper because it was heavy.

Curiosity question: is 10 dollars a good or bad price for a 1971 S, 40% proof, not in top cond. but pretty good. Was just thinking about getting it for the silver value and holding on to it in case silver skyrockets sometime during my life span. Seems to be about a wash price wise at this silver price. Guy is asking 15 got him down to 10 so far and was hoping for 8. Let me know what you think.

Did find one '71 struck way off center. Don't know if it's worth anything?

Did you mean 90%?? I don't know how much silver is in the 71 proof to be honest, I'm sure others will chime in. but if you did mean 40% and it is only worth melt that is a terrible buy. current spot price puts a 40% worth 4.92. the 90% however are worth 12.03

Just got done searching roughly $6000 in assorted coins. $2500 in halfs, $2000 in brinksmanship rolls and the rest CWR, $800 in quarters, half CWR and half BWR, $1500 in dollars, all CWR, $300 in nickels, $200 in brinks rolls, $100 in CWR, $500 in dimes, $250 in brinks rolls, $250 in CWR, and about $100 in CWR pennies.

Results are a '69 and '68 40% silvers, one 1995 civil war commemorative half, one 1943S silver nickel, one 1946 Rosie' and 29 wheaties. The oldest wheat is a 1923, and the best was probably an AU 1959.

My fingers are raw ad I almost gave up three quarters of the way throu when. Was on dimes, but then I started just edge searching and found the silver dime and continued on. I'll be getting a ton more when. Get back to north carolna. Any roll searchers in north Carolina?

This was an exciting first experience

Just wondering morbidsteve, did you really mean you searched $1500 in dollar coins? If you did, what were you looking for? Were they mostly, ikes, or presidential, or others?

Went through 1 box of halves, skunk.

Picked up the last $130 at the bank that had been giving me pretty consistent rolls over the past week, turns out I went through their entire box by myself! Netted eight 40%ers, an '80 P and an '86 P in great shape, and an '07 P and an '08 P. The silver total for the box was 48 40%ers! They said they'd be glad to order me a box, I'll definitely take them up on that offer if they don't need me to withdraw all $500 at once.

As a side note, the box had instructions for plastic wraps on them, but the coins came in paper wraps. Anyone have insight on this?

    Hello Everyone

Been lurking awhile and decided to join the group.

I have been doing this about 11 months now. I search halves, dimes, quarters. As far as boxes I order a couple half boxes a week and buy a few dime and quarter boxes every week as much as time allows. I only search the clear dime and quarters. I have a small sum of money I keep in rotation.

I read this thread about every week to see how everyone is doing.

I was amazed like everyone else as to what VACookey was finding. Those pics with 5 silvers from one roll was neat.

My best find was last summer. 6 1/2 rolls of BU 64's with the other half being 40%'s.

My best box or quarters was 9 silvers.

My best box of dimes was 9 silvers. I think there was a couple of Canadians in there.

I have had a couple of half boxes with 30 or so silvers mostly 40%'s. In this area the yellow flat boxes do better for me than the square ones. Stopped doing them because I haven't found a thing from them other than a couple gold plated with the extra 1980 stamp or whatever it is.

My oldest coin find was a 1917 (i think) standing liberty quarter. Highly worn, but cool to find none the less.

Took a few months before I found my first Franklin. Have not yet found any Walkers. I am not sure they made it out to this part of the country. :)

My first dime find was a merc, but I typically find 1 roosie per box like everyone else.

I tried nickles when I first started but it was way to much work for me. Need to look at every coin closely.

Also, I am getting quite a collecting of foreign coins. I was getting a bunch of British 5 centers for awhile in the dimes, though they have trailed off now. I bet the banks were complaining, so they probably tightened their sorting. It was 2 per box for awhile there.

Anyhow, hello to everybody. I will post my finds every so often.

The coins I got were the Susan b Anthony sized coins. I didn't mention but I found a near date in there as well. It was a mix of susans, presidentials, and sacajawayas.
