searched 3 dime boxes in the last 4 days found 6 silvers

last Friday found 3 dimes in 1 box
yesterday found 2 dimes in 1 box
today found 1 dimes in 1 box

9 boxes searched to date and 14 silver dimes found

is this a good average? I wish I was able to find a bank around here willing to get boxes of halves without charging me $7.50 each or flat out laughing at me...

Cazkaboom One for all, all for me.

Okay, So today I got some extra cash so I decided to go to the bank and get some rolls:

$10 dimes skunk, not sure why I only bought $10
    $28 in halves: Skunk

The teller told me I'll be having fun with the pink rolls on the side and the bright blue nickel roll.
The bright blue nickel roll was a definite skunk, but I did get a roll with both a dime and a 1944-S war nickel in it. The rest of the rolls gave out 7 pre-1960 nickels.
I was kinda intrigued at the rolls the cents came in:

I opened them in order from bottom to top as a sampler, the first 6 were SOLID copper. All pre-1980. I am just wondering how long these have sat waiting for me.

Then I opened the rest and got about 8 wheats, 30 Canadian, and approx. 1070 copper.

Please note my desk is a total mess :p

Pretty good day if you ask me, got a silver nickel and some weight in copper :)

Good news for me. I just got a call from my bank that was supposed to get halves for me the other week but never came through. Well they got my order in this week instead of next.
Giddy up!!! More halves to search

Decided to road trip this Friday while I'm off. Might do live updates, might not, my phones battery has gone down the crapper recently.

    Lancaster, PA, here I come.

You know I'm a fan of the live updates. We can live vicariously through you as we sit at our desks and slave away and dream of big scores of silver. Good luck man.

Good luck out there. I travel down that way for work twice a year and have always had luck finding lots and lots of rolled coins but can't recall ever finding a silver.

Hopefully you find some nice stashes

My plan is more to hit the main veins of banks along major roads for the first half of the day, then spend the last few hours (Say, 1:30-5) hitting up the small towns surrounding.

One more thing, I hit a mini milestone today with the 2 x 40%ers. I'm now at $100.50 face value in 40%er's! I wonder how many years it will take me collect a full box of $500 of 40% halves.

I'm pacing for about 2.5 years.

2 boxes of halves, 1 40%er. Great to see things are back to normal for me! Not! :(

Right now I've been searching for lets say 10 months. I guess I'm on track for about 4 years to fill a box of 40%er's. It's a bad gauge since I've increased my volume in the past couple months. I'm shooting for 400 x 40%er's for the year of 2012. 200 boxes with an average of 2 silvers per box will do the trick.

My goal is $100k in halves. I don't have specific goals as far as ounces goes.
