Love the "V Nickel"! (It has a different meaning in US coinage)

My towns are flooded with 2011 dimes. I'm doing my best to gather then all up and get rid of them so they can get new shipments of hopefully non 2011 dimes. Each bank has 2-3 boxes worth so it's going to take me a couple weeks.

Shipping a small box to Europe with coin rolls in it is going to cost something like $15.

Why a small box? why not a small or medium sized bubble envelope that will hold the five rolls? I'm sure that be less.

i dont mind paying $15 for it (unless it cheaper the way Joey says :p )
If that is the only way i can get my hands on some rolls, ...
(i could fly over to there and get some myself, but that will cost me more than $15 i think :p )

The envelopes are prone to breaking open and spilling out the contents (especially rolls of coin) when they go through the sorters.

It's just not cost efficient to ship a few rolls of cents for so much money. You'd be better off having a box or three shipped to you.

those boxes you talk about, do you know howmuch they cost (just for the coins)?
And what would the shipping cost be for that?

I understand what you say about it may not be worth it for a few rolls, so maybe it will be cheaper with boxes.

    Any idea?

$130 dimes mixed CWR and BWR - skunk
    $100 BWR halves - skunk
Did find out though credit union machine is NOT the place to dump coins.
    Machine counted this as:

    pennies - $.03
    nickels - $.05
    dimes - $128.60
    halves - $99.50
    dollars - $1.00
    ---------------
    Total: $229.18

Strange mix from just halves and dimes.

I'd be happy with that...you only lost $0.82. I loose more like $1 - 2 when I dump $300 - $400 in dimes at my banks coin counter.

Looks like one of your halves was counted as a dollar, and of 4 of your dimes one was counted as a nickel and 3 as pennies. Interesting. I use Metro bank and it has always been spot on as far as I know.

Oops, I missed a dollar in dimes somewhere. Must have not been counted at all.

4 boxes of halves today, all skunk. I did find a bunch of chromed halves but they just served to fake me out.

I have 5 more boxes to pick up tomorrow. I hope I find something good.

    VA,
Usually you pull good boxes. I'm surprised at all of the skunks. Better luck tomorrow!
