    Silver quarters are hard to come by, you find one out of every 2ish boxes. Halves and quarters work out better for silver

    I will keep this in mind. I've only gone through one box of quarters and didn't find any. In fact, I've never found a silver quarter from roll searching and I've gone through alot of rolls in the past. I will no longer deal with quarter rolls from customers* so boxes are my only chance.

    *you will just get ripped off, so many rolls are short 1,2 or 3 quarters, it is awful.

    I've found 1 silver '64 quarter total out of a bag of $1000, a box of $500, and a half box of $250. The quarter was in the bag. Quarter ratios are pretty bad :p

    Ok, so, something I tried posting yesterday, but the computer ate my post :p

    After going through the 105 1974d halves in my first $1000 bag with a loupe, look what I found <3 Kinda makes me wish I had checked other dates/mint marks as well ;)

    Picked up a box yesterday which turned out to be a skunk. However, I did get a war nickel in my change from McDonalds and so I picked up a few rolls of nickels and dimes at the grocery store. Found a Roosie and another war nickel so any day with silver I'll mark as a good day.

    I found a war nickel out of 5 rolls yesterday. I was not that happy because my two boxes of halves never got ordered and I was looking forward to going through those. Like you said though, any day with silver is a good day and you found 3 in one day so even better.

    I searched through 50 customer rolls of dimes and found a single Canadian along with two Silver Roosevelts: 1964 and 1955-S.

    Yesterday was disappointing, $1300 in halves searched only 1 %40'er
    Today was much better, searched about the same amount and got 4 1964 and 7 40%ers :D
    Also found 2 silver dimes at work!

    Again this is not roll searching resultS but roll searching related. Just made a call to some banks to set up half dollar orders for next week. The first guy was a little hesitant until i confirmed I hold 3 accounts with them. He told me the order would be in on Tuesday in the afternoon. The next bank I called "did not know" if they could order halves. Someone actually called me back and told me they had $500 in the vault (CWR's) that they would hold for me and they would order me another box. They order online and from what they website said it depended on availability from the mint? I'm sure they are sitting in Dunbar's warehouse and I will get them. Maybe they $500 they have in the vault will not be slit open and retaped or recrimped rolls and I'll rn into something good. With that being said, I'll search for loose and CWR halves and dimes and hit up the boxes of halves in the afternoon.

    Off I trot this morning with some extra firing power in my pocket. Thanks to eBay for finally letting go of some of my fund. I took off to my favorite bank and was able to scoop up $100 in halves and a box of dimes. The halves produced a nice little run of 40%. 65 66 and 67. The box of dimes on kicked out one roosie (64) and yet another deceiving frank. I franking hate franks. Went to another bank and picked up $200 in halves. Skunked. Guess I should call it a day.

    HOWDY FOLKS!!

    Been a while... Between a hectic run up to final exams and my favorite bank (maybe not anymore, heh) telling me they can't order me my regular 2 boxes of H's and box of D's anymore (they said they might be able to start up again after New Year's. Maybe.), I haven't been doing much hunting. Well today I'm running around for some shopping and what not, so I figure I'll give it a go. I stop by a little bank that I've been to one time before. I ask if they have any H's - first teller says no. I ask if any of the other tellers might have any - the other teller says, "Oh, I'm so glad you asked. I got these the other day, and I'm glad to get rid of them..."

    2 CWR's:

    Yes, I'm glad I could help you get rid of them:

    open_rolls.jpg

    WOO HOO! Solid 40%'ers!!

    The odd part is the rolls were stamped with a pawn shop's name and address, and it's just up the street. Maybe next time I'm down that way, I'll stop by the pawn shop...

    Anyway, here's my totals since 11/18/11:

    BWR H's: 100 rolls -> 1 x 40%
    Box 1: skunk
    Box 2: 1 x 40%
    CWR H's: 2 rolls -> 40 x 40%
    Loose H's: $32.50 -> skunk
    BWR D's: 100 rolls -> 2 x roosies
    BWR N's: 50 Rolls -> 1 x 35%

    So, there you have it. Moral of the story: Don't give up the search, it's still out there!!

    Everyone have a great Christmas and a safe New Year's celebration!

    Nice find on the '55-S, that's NIFC. One of the two roosies I'm missing for my collection is a '55-D.

    Box o' halves... no silver, but I did find a nice 1972 pocket peice that would probably grade a VG with no scratches or dings etc, just plain worn.
