Going through a box or two dimes tonight and then picking up four halve boxes tomorrow.

WOW! Nice Find Today

Stopped at a bank today to see if they had any halves. The teller told me that they do not sell them to non-members. Teller next to her told her to 'get rid of them'. I thought they might have quite a few. However, they came back from the vault and said they only had two rolls. When I got home I opened them up.

Roll One: 2x 1968, 1x 1967, 1x 1966.

Pretty darn good but the second roll put it to shame! When I first open a roll I take a look at them on edge and I could tell it was going to be good.

Roll Two: 3x 1968, 5x 1967, 1x 1966, 1x 1964, 1x 1963 Ben, 1x 1962 Ben, 1x 1942 WL All in great condition!

After a score like that I want to go back out tomorrow and look for more.

I have been doing this for about a month and here are my totals so far:

16x 1968, 14x 1967, 6x 1966, 4x 1965, 4x 1964, 1x 1963 Ben, 2x 1962 Ben, 1x 1942 WL, 5x 1982 S, 1x 1976 S, 1x 1982 Panamanian Half.

 

I searched $40 of halves the about a month ago and found a 1967 and 2 1968. About two weeks ago i searched $70 and came up with a 1987s proof and 2 1994s proofs. All three of the proofs were in the same roll.

 

I wish I could search halves

Pulled a 1966 SMS dime (luckily without a single scratch) from a roll today. First time for one of those.

 

Ive recently got back into my coin collection, I bought 10 rolls of quarters today in hope of finding that American Somoa quarter, which is the last one I need for my collection, and came up with nothing at all. I also havent been able to find the Olympic, Vicksburg, and Chickasaw Park quarters.

 

Weird roll searching day today. First I dumped two bags of coins and found odd foreign coins in the reject slot in both machines. The first bank I found 2001 5 rupees, 20 euro cent, 2002 50 indian paise, 1961 canadian 5 cents, united arab emirates coin the size of a quarter, 1972 25 indian paise, and a2008 2 rupees. At the second bank I found 1985 and 1990 canadian dime.

I rolled searched a box of dimes and found '64 and '57 roosies and a 1980 canadian dime. Good box.

 

In case anyone wasn't sure, this post was blistering sarcasm. There were, what, 3 billion of these minted? I think every one of them was in that box... The only way a 1964 nickel is worth a full $0.05, is if it is in ms-71 condition, and additionally has the cure to cancer secretly encoded into it's metal molecule structure...
