HOTN, try nickels to change things up. I'm over $60k in dimes on the year and still pulling silver.

My thought is that if people are cashing in goodies to the bank to pay for holiday gifts, it will take some time for the coins to make it from the bank, sent back to the rolling facilities and back into our boxes...unless we can get them before they get sent out of course.

Thanks Merc. I'll give it a try with the nickels and see what happens. It must just be a bad batch of dimes I went through then, from what I hear is that all the coins go to a place far away from me to get counted and re-rolled and then shipped all over the state. Not likely that I'm getting my own dumps back yet. I'm still going to try and get two boxes of halves for Wednesday in addition to starting up the nickels. Maybe I'll luck out and then will have some silver in their teller trays when I go in for a visit today. I was not happy with all the skunks, but I'm going to keep at it for sure, my luck has to turn around.

I like the way you are thinking...I'm all pumped up now to go get some silver! Teller tray scores sound sweet....I'm still looking for my first silver pulled direct from a teller tray.

Don't feel bad I had a similar experience with the credit union next door to my office. I bought a few rolls of Hayes Presidential Dollars there, when I went to one particular teller I got the whole rigamorole of how I needed to have an account there etc. So I opened an account and now I make sure I find another teller other then her to buy loose coins or rolls from.

Forgot to mention, picked up three boxes of nickels yesterday.... DE is just polluted with 2011's right now. Did manage to find a lonely war nickel, though, in one of the two I broke open. Probably break the other one open tonight and go through it real quick.

I go to a BoA on lunch to cash a check and get some halves ordered. They told me it might be 1-2 weeks but my normal girl was not there so I don't think they know what they are talking about. They get deliveries on Wednesday so hopefully they order them tomorrow and they make it on the truck for Wednesday.

I also ask the teller to see what they have for a box of dimes, and she pulls out a box showing all 2011P enders. I decline politely and ask if they have any CWR and she has $100 CWR and BWR mixed. Well the dimes were KILLER and she put them in a nice zipper bag for me!

2 x Roosie in the CWR
1 x Roosie in the BWR

I also got a tray of nickels to search later. Giddy up!! ( in a Kramer voice)

'liberty" and on top "in god" after that smooth.
slightly larger in diameter than other cents looks like it was interrupted during strike possibly only evidence of bust are the shoulder sleeve wrinkles any ideas??the reverse is pretty much the same except theres an "x" stamped on it

The dime is damage. The quarter, highly probable to be damage as well.

    Total value of $0.35.

    2 Boxes Halves: 3 NIFC keepers, 1x 40%, 1 x 90%
Bank now charges $5 per box to help cover shipping, so I came out ahead by a few bucks, hardly worth the time and gas... but I'd do it everyday if I could b/c eventually the big boxes come and make it all worth while. That 90%er was glowing thru the paper roll as I unwrapped it, nice lusterous AU.

Do you think we should petition to get our own forum? I feel that there are many stories and discussions buried among the 17,000+ posts in this thread that should have their own threads.

So I posted a couple days ago about a teller advising me that a different teller that was on vacation had $300 in silver Ikes in her personal vault but won't be back in until Monday. I showed up this morning and she was back. She said she didn't know what I was talking about. she got some halves but no dollar coins. She Looked around and found a note that said "customer will be coming in to buy all of your Ike half dollars.":(

I had really been excited about the thought of going through several rolls of the big dollar coins, as I've never come across any so far. bought the halves anyway since i was there. 1 40% silver.

1 Box of pennies: 2 wheats
15 rolls of Nickles: 1 Buffalo, 2 war times (pretty much consider that a big win)
3 rolls of dimes: 1 rosie (not too bad)

this was my first semi large roll searching effort. I did find several dates I needed to fill my folders and albums, as well as several that were in better shape than the ones I had, so overall I would say a pretty good time.

    Searched $20 in CWD's and $70 in BWD's - 1 x 1964 Rosie (Good Return there)
1 Box of Halves: 1 x 1995S (Clad)...according to Red Book it's worth $12.00 (must be low mintage) and the big one.....

    1 x 1907 Barber Half (1st Coin Hunting) :hail:
