    November Totals

I know for some November was a tough month, and please don't take this as bragging from my standpoint. November was my best month to date in my first 6 months. Totals:

Nice work, Ace... my next few boxes come up dry, I might just give it up... Not sure if it's worth the time/effort any more for me.

I understand Merc. The question I ask myself when I hit the really dry runs is....'Am I still enjoying it?'

At the point my answer becomes NO...then it's time to give it a break.

My suggestion is takes a week or two off. All you need is one good score and you'll be back in it to win it.

For me I am doing this for fun, investing in the kids future (hopefully), and a long term investment. When I was in my 20's I would not have had the patience for this at all! I was all about making as much money as I could. Life's twists and turns has taught me that 'slow and steady' is not a bad way to go. Hitting a Grand Slam every time your up at the plate doesn't work for most of us folks!

Keep me posted on your decision.

I think I'm just gonna keep going with it until at least next Friday. That's when I'll be road tripping on my silvery road... I think I've gone down that road twice, the first time yielded over $500 in silver, and the second time about $250. If it is a rough go this time, I'll probably walk away until after I move, at the least.

Just curious how far you are from New Jersey? I see much better results in that state. If it's close you could order a large number of boxes and make a roadtrip.

    Good luck...

Twenty minutes and a $6 bridge toll fee. It is something to consider, though... Although I know of at least four hunters from south NJ.

    Merc,
You have been at it a while and once reminded me about how much of a grind it truely is. After I got sick last month I toned it down because it's harder to dump in my area without many coin counting machines. To top it off I was having a terrible Novemebr until Monday this week. I got $120 in halves and scored 5 x 40%. My best in a while. Made me feel alot better about it all. So I plan to plug away a little slower and not kill myslef so much. I'll start sending more coin lock bags to be counted which ties up my money for longer periods of time but it's easier on me in the long run. I'll score less silver be I won't feel so insane about the whole thing. I can't imagine you not hunting coin and posting on the forum. I hope to be in this for the long run and I think chillaxing a bit with CHR will keep me in it for longer and maybe sometime soon I'll score a killer box. Chill or take a break for a while and you will prob feel better about the whole thing.

I don't keep monthly statistics... good thing because I'm pretty sure I'd be upset if I did.

Did a box of dimes I got yesterday when I got back from the bar last night, 2 roosies.

I don't keep them monthly either, but Nov has been bad for me as well.

I'm impressed with the number of silver dimes you guys are finding.....I find only 0.79 silver dimes per box.

Typically I'm around 1.8 silver dimes per box. This month I'm around 0.8 per box. Back in September I was running a 2.3 avg per box when I ran into some hot boxes.

When I started dimes, I averaged 2.5 for a while, that dropped off to 2ish, and now is down to 1.5. I haven't had a great dime box in a long, long time.

For all the crap you have to deal with in halves, they do pay off better than anything else, if you average it out.

I've gone through about 20 boxes and only found a couple of good coins. I was thinking about getting fewer boxes per week because it was getting discouraging. I got two boxes yesterday that yielded nothing. However, I got two boxes today and I found 31 silvers, 3 of which were 64 and 1 was a really nicely toned 68.

So don't give up! Perhaps people are dumping some old coins for Christmas shopping. If so, maybe December and January will be killer.

VACookey, any chance those boxes were from BAC? I'm picking two boxes up today as well, hopefully I can tap into that.

My results lately have been as poor as many of you. Last 2 boxes of halves - 2 skunks. Also, 2 awful boxes of nickels. Hopefully that picks up today.

Dimes have been absolutely horrible for me in boxes...I had 5 skunk boxes in a row, and then switched to CWD's...they seem to produce far better with much less searching. You are correct...the halves pay off a lot better. So, it's worth it to persevere through a 10 box skunk streak. It comes in waves...like a good shoe at the blackjack table!
