Did some roll searching last week

2 boxes of halves--> 5 post 2002 halves (not really worth anything but why not hang onto them)
    2 proofs

$200 in NF string pennies--> 7 1909 VDB pennies. Couldn't believe in, spread out in 4 boxes that had very little CU and 32 wheats in the $200 of those pennies. Dry boxes with sweet surprises. Never found a 1909 much less a VDB before. Looked for copy on each for like 30 min because I couldn't believe it. All of them are brown but show great detail and have very little wear.

$500 in loomis pennies--> 250+ wheats, about 10 rolls of S mint memorials (mostly 60's and 70's) and about 33% average on CU pennies. One of the better batches for sure from loomis. Oh and several rolls of CU Canada cents

    Got My First Wheatie

    It's only a common one, but it's encouraging. 1956: grade likely F.

[Having trouble with the pictures...I hope these show up.]

That is still awesome if you find nothing else Merc! I have hit 54 banks with about $2000 collected while doing road trips when working down in OH and have hit 10 - 40% at one bank in $60 CWR. I should be able to hit about 25 more on the way back home next week.

Good luck on the rest of the tip and thanks for the map...I'll know where to stay away from on my future travels lol.

One box of halves: 2 x 40%ers. :) Will go through another box tonight.

ATTENTION EVERYONE: Now that silver has dropped like a rock, PLEASE STOP HOARDING SILVER HALF DOLLARS!! Please be so kind as to put them all back where you found them. There's nothing to see here...

P.S. I heard from a good source that the NEW BIG THING will be BICENTENNIALS and 1971 half dollars (but don't tell anyone!). Feel free to start stockpiling those now so I don't have to look at them anymo... I mean... so that you'll be rich!! :p

Merc - this is especially true for YOU! I'm in VA Beach - please stop by on your way back from your road trip and I'll trade you a 1971 or 1976 (your choice!) for each of your silvers. And then just STOP. Please! You must have like a silver thumb or something. :p

Out of $400 I found 50 silver dimes, all of which were in one solid silver roll of mixed 1964/1963 rosies :)

    Got Myself a 1937 Wheatie

Not much value, and not in great condition, but it was a find given it traveled all the way up to Toronto. Unfortunately, there's a rust spot underneath the "N" in "CENT."

Skunked all damn week =( It is looking grim around here. Even dimes haven't produced anything. Next payday I am going to get a box of dimes...hopefully that will produce better numbers!

Didn't do very well with my boxes on Thursday and Friday. After opening (24) half boxes, I hit 3-90% and 7-40%. 18 boxes were skunks. I usually only order 3 boxes per site, so it took a lot of driving for the 10 coins.

Went through my second box of halves of the day:

    1 x Franklin
    1 x '64
    10 x 40%!!

Also, 3 x 2005 (as someone mentioned earlier... why not, right?)

And... I'm now down to only four holes in my Kennedy album(s): '64D, '87P, '87D, and '03P. My goal is to pull everything in the albums from circulation (not buy any in shop or eBay). I also replace coins as I get better specimens of course - especially the 'toned' stuff (just swapped out my '67 with a toner from the last box). The album keeps me focused because I check the 'quality,' dates and mint-marks - not just the edges. Maybe I should be looking for errors too? Anyone do this? If so - any recommendations as to what to look for? I couldn't imagine doing this with dimes...

Anyway - long post. Bottom line: I'm very happy with today's results! And... I'm now officially addicted to CRH. :D

cvicisso, thats a great box! as for errors, there is a debate about the error where the designers initials "FG" don't appear on the back of the coin. you can look it up, but I have heard some people say its an error and others say its not, there are several dates, like the 1972-D, 1982-P, and 1983-P, where this is the case. I have looked for them and found too many across all dates to consider it an error myself. The only one I look for these days is the 1974-D DDO, with doubling in the "TRUST" of "IN GOD WE TRUST" on the front of the coin. (See Picture) As for the 4 coins you don't have, the '64D and '03P are just a matter of time, but those darn '87s are tough, some people have found several, but I've done around 40 boxes, have gotten over 200 NIFC 2002-date, and haven't found a single '87. Anyways, good luck!
