I need to start checking the reject slot on the coin machines when i walk into my banks.

Did a box of halves last thursday and didnt find anything. Went out of San Antonio to one of the little towns and the first bank i stopped at had $120 in CWR and $7 loose. Picked 7 40%'s out of the CWRs nothing in the loose. Next bank sold me $50 of ikes they had but wouldnt sell me halves or the morgan dollar they were saving for a little old man that comes in once a week. Next bank sold me $70 in ikes. Never had luck on ike dollars like that. Hello Ebay!!! Wish i had enough money to buy the $23 i couldnt afford at the last bank.

How do ya'll get silver dimes nickles and quarters from the tellers tray? Do you just ask if they have silver or do you ask them to hold silver for you and keep checking back?

Picked up 140 CWR and 5 rolls of big dollars from a small bank in a small Podunk town in Pennsylvania that had been hit hard by the recent flooding; I was there for work. The teller said they've been having a lot of older people cash in coins. I wish I had more money on me because they had $440 in CWR in the vault but I only had 240 on me so I got what I got.

I'm guessing I didn't get any of the rolls that people have been bringing in because mine were straight skunks. I was hoping for some morgans like Merc found recently - but nothing

Picked up a great box of halves yesterday. Brought 1/2 the box home to go through last night and found 6 40%ers. Did the other half this AM at work and found 8 more for a total of 14 40%ers. Also found 4 Rosie's in $200 BWR dimes.

Dumping this AM, I had about $5 overage on the coin counter. The reject tube is broken off so the rejects fall to the bottom of the machine and don't go into the reject tray on the door. I told the teller "I'll grab these rejects and put them back through the macine." Some of my halves were down there so there was no issue. From the rejects I pulled a beat up silver Rosie and 2 SBA's along with some foreigns. I was able to "clean off" the magnet before they came over to change the bags and got a handful of foreign including 2 toonies.

Killer day! That is a nice addition to the pile of silver you must already have.

I always look in the teller's tray, and if I see a silver, I ask for it. Sometimes they give it to me and sometimes not. If it is a bank I don't have a relationship with, I would probably make a stink. But if I know and work with the teller, then I don't make any waves.

Lot of the tellers around me have their tray's within a drawer so you can't even barely see them. They open the drawer so fast and it's hidden so with them there is no chance to scan for silver.

Went to go and cash in some dimes on my lunch break and the coin machine was being serviced...Doh. At least it's not broken. I'll have to try again tomorrow and turn the clad back into cash so I can get hunting again.

I've learned my lesson and always call before going to dump to make sure the counter is working (when I am home in NJ.) Some of the branches here in NYC have 2 machines which is nice.

Yup all the banks around here with the exception of maybe one have the tellers trays in a locking drawer that only the teller has the key to. So i hardly ever can see the tray. Oh well guess i can just ask for anything pre 65.

Good advice. The head teller was standing there and asked me to come back, she always treats me nice and I actually thought she was going to offer to hold and count my coins when the machine was up and deposit into my account. She knew I was on my break and told me to come back later or tomorrow since they are open late if I can't make it on my break. 2 machines would be a dream, this is the only machine within 20 miles of me that does not charge a fee if you are a member. There is one other bank that I opted not to get an account with since they still charge you 6% even if a member. The other option is to send coin out to be counted and credited which I do for halves sometimes.
