    Box 1 : 1 40%er
Box 2 : 7 NIFC including a 1987, 2 40% and 7 90%'s w/ a Walker on end even though I didn't realize it was until ripped open the roll and a 1954 Franklin. One roll had 3 silvers in in. This still amazes me how this happens. Best find for me. Funny thing is that the teller accidentally forgot they came in $500 boxes so she ordered these two extra by mistake and hoped I would take them so she wouldn't have to ship them back on Monday. Pure luck I guess.

TD Bank closed today. The effects near me are nothing worse than a bad storm blowing through... don't see why TD is closed, considering most of my area has power just fine... Everything cool up there with you, Ace?

Box of nickels, skunk. Picked up the box to toss it with the others to be burned, and it felt heavy, another roll in it, oops. '43-S popped outta that roll. NOT a skunk. :)

I picked up my two boxes of halves on Friday, from BAC. Also I got a box of nickels from Wachovia, it was weird though, because they handed me the regular brinks box, but inside were 50 CWR, all of the same style wrapper. Turns out there was nothing in the box except for about 10 pre-60, which sucked. 1st Box of halves had only 2 40%. The last 3 half boxes I have done have not had 1 coin post-2000. That compares with my previous 30 boxes that have had at least 5 NIFC in each. I found this in the nickel box, what do you guys think it is, anything? img399.jpg just in case you are looking and wondering what I might have seen, it looks like it doesn't have a "P" MM. Just grease?
Also, do any of you guys take out the 82 and 83 from nickels? I was looking at numismedia, and the 82-P is worth 2.01 in AU50! I think its because they didn't make mint sets that year or something so they are harder to find in that condition, but still, with as many nickels as some of us go through, I'm sure you could find a couple here and there. Anybody try selling them before?

colligoergosum I collect, therefore I am

Bought a mixed lot of Canadian coins off craigslist today, got 380 CAD for $170 so it was a great deal to begin with. Then I searched through it all and found 6 silver dimes and 4 silver quarters! It's much harder searching Canadian coins because all of the sides are silver. Do we have any Canadian searchers here?

Went to a Guaranty bank across the street from my bank and ask the lady in the drive thru if she had any halves. She had 2... I was tempted to drive off byt gave her the dollar for them. Good thing I did because she handed them to me and I didnt bother to look but they were both 40%ers a 67 and 69....im trying to hold off on the halves because I am waiting for my cherrypickers guide to arrive tomorrow so I know what I am looking for variety-wise. Only looking for silver and common sense errors...

Merc - same deal out here. Power was on in Exton and TD was closed. Citizens right next door was open. However, I had the kids this weekend and decided to give the coins a rest today. There is always tomorrow. I stayed up till after 3 when the storm finally smashed in to Jersey to make sure there were no more Tornado threats coming through in case I had to get the family down in the basement. Fortunately, nothing came close to us.

Tomorrow I may have a box or two available.

Glad to hear you're alright up there... They were calling Tornado warnings for Chester and Brookhaven, which are about 5-7 miles from me, but apparently the tornado dissipated over eastern Jersey and the Delaware. Always good to spend time with the kids, I guess, I'd be trying to get my kids into it, haha... I think kids are a few years off for me, at a minimum, so... :) Someday.

The threat of anything big happening is pretty much over... just a cleanup left now. Well-wishes are always appreciated, though. Crazy week, eh? Earthquake, Hurricane, and a Tornado.

I found this site that gives the basics on what to look for when you are getting into roll searching. Lists what coins to look for for all denominations and their approximate value.

I've been trying to get them into it, but at 9 and 8 they don't have the attention span for it. Maybe someday.

My kids love it when we're finding stuff, otherwise they get bored. They have WAY more fun going through pennies. I keep a few boxes on hand and when they feel like sorting them they put all the wheats in one area and then put all the "cool" coins in another jar for themselves (shield pennies, canadian, 2009 pennies), basically everything that isn't a memorial.

On occasion I'll plant some coins in rolls that I bring home so they find stuff - it keeps them interested.

My dad used to seed his change when I was a kid, definitely helped get me hooked onto coins as a kid.
